Love Enqvist - A name for the one who doesn’t move
Persistence, generosity, loss of control, alienation, network, desire, dreams, heterotopias and the edges of society - the water is a home and place of imagination for these things. The water is a connector, the parts drift by and maybe a view comes from nowhere, drifting into place.
Love Enqvist has on several occasions used both the water and own personal memories as a starting point in his artistic practice, taking him from Stockholm to Istanbul by kayak, to the end of the world and a disappearing language as well as to a man, who travelled with a raft and shared his near death experience.
On Saturday, Love invites you on a performative twighlight journey, a physical and psychological drift, passing fragments of language and memory, movement and disappearance, travel and documentation. Life is flux and the journey aims towards a thought process on a story’s origin and destination.

LIVING 1 Juni - 2 Oktober 2011 The Louisiana’s exhibition series Frontiers of Architecture I-IV, which the museum has been showing in the years 2007-2011, uses architecture’s deployment of other disciplines to illustrate the new movements and paths that are shifting the frontiers of architecture. With its overall theme LIVING, the last exhibition in the series, combining nos. III and IV and filling half the total exhibition space of the museum, turns the spotlight on the question “How does the Good Life look today?” |

DHARAVI- DOCUMENTING INFORMALITIES
A collaborative project - send me an email if you wish to purchase this book
Dharavi main street. Photo: Love Enqvist |
|
Redevelopment plans threaten the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of people who live and work in Dharavi, a city within the city of Mumbai. The book Documenting Informalities dispells the idea that a "slum" can only be a location for despair. The book reveals thriving communities, innovative architecture and powerful grass roots politics. The book gives detailed, personal accounts of the many ways in which we are all linked to Dharavi?s people and industries. Essays by Saskia Sassen, Arjun Appadurai and Sheela Patel compliment maps, photographs, drawings and interviews made by a group of artists and architects from The Royal University College of Fine Arts in Stockholm.
